November DC Report

Hi Members,

YHPC 2015 Horse Trials – A Huge Success

november 1Amidst glorious weather, our club has once again hosted a very successful horse trials event. We have received much favorable feedback and early figures suggest that the event will once again bring in significant income to the club.

Planning, coordinating and running one of the biggest pony club events in the State requires superhuman efforts by a few, extraordinary input from many and loads of help from most. As in previous years, the Brocksopp family devoted hours, days and weeks to this event, the Horse Trials Committee november 2devoted many, many hours and we also had a number of families who donated more than 30 hours of their time to this event. In addition to this, our members really stepped up by committing to a minimum of 2 duties per family, making for a fantastic event. A huge thank you also to our YHPC competitors who pitched in and helped with duties once their riding for the day was complete. I asked many riders to cover shifts, and all of them gratefully obliged.

Fantastic to see so many of our own riders competing in this event and so many YHPC families and friends helping out! Further details regarding the financial success of the event will be passed on shortly, but rest assured that this event makes a significant contribution towards maintaining our magnificent grounds and keeping our annual fees affordable.

Games Squad Training

The games squad is preparing for the upcoming Interzone Championships on November 21st and to assist with this training, there is a dedicated 2 hour games session at our rally on Sunday. The games squad session will commence at 2.00pm (session 3).

There are 2 sections for this event, both open and Under 16. Places for these teams are filling very fast, so if you are interested, please contact Dennis Kerr ASAP.

Musical Ride & Flat Teams 2016

november 5We are very eager to see our club well represented at the Zone Musical Ride and Flat Teams event in 2016. We hosted a brief meeting at our September meeting to gain early expressions of interest and we will also be assessing riders at the November rally for suitability and team selection. Some of the flat sessions at this rally will also include working in pairs and teams of 4.november 4

If you are unsure about what is involved in these events, please chat to me on Sunday or email me. Team events are loads of fun and riders of any age or grade can participate in the musical ride, but we will be asking riders to be able commit to practise sessions, in addition to assistance and training provided at rallies. This is a wonderful opportunity for all riders to represent YHPC at Zone level and possibly progress to a State level event.
